They have created cutting edge curriculum that is artistically inspired, business minded, and teaches our students to be the future leaders in our industry. Our leading creative team is widely respected and has been apart of Aveda Master Jam, York Fashion Week, E-Talk, MTV, Fashion Magazine, and Flare Magazine.

Tristin Morrison

Senior Creative Director, Aveda Salon and School Group


Tristin joined Aveda in 2001. He is a key contributor to opening all of the Aveda Institutes and Academy Salons in Canada. Tristin believes that education and practice is the foundation of transforming into a true professional in the hairstyling industry. He is constantly discovering and growing new talent in the industry by sharing his journey of how hair found him and his artistic inspiration. Tristin has presented at many Aveda Congress, Aveda Master Jam, and travels all over the world as an educator. He has taken part in five Aveda collections with the Aveda Global Artistic Team.

Marta Murray

Creative Director, Aveda Western Canada


Marta has been with the Aveda family since 2001 and moved to Vancouver to open the Aveda Institute and Academy Vancouver in 2003. Marta has been apart of the Creative Team joining them in global hair shows such as Aveda Master Jam, Aveda Congress and was a lead hairstylist for Vancouver Eco Fashion Week. Her passion is teaching and inspiring new hairstylists to be true salon industry professionals.

Wendy Stuart

Lead Educator, Aveda Institute & Academy Vancouver

Wendy started her career with Aveda in 2004. Her true passion has always been education and teaching future generation of hairstylists. She became an educator in 2009 at the Aveda Institute Toronto and within a short year was moved up to lead educator in 2010. Wendy moved to Vancouver in 2011 to lead the Aveda Institute education team and continues to be an integral part of Aveda’s education system.

Shallynn Johnston

Aveda Academy, Aveda Institute & Academy Vancouver


Shallynn has worked with the Aveda Academy Salons in Western Canada since 2004. During this time she had the opportunity
to assist many Aveda Purefesssionals and Guest Artists at various events and classes. Shallynn is dedicated to education and provides advanced training to Academy students as well as continued education to beauty industry professionals throughout the west coast.

Tracy Newton

Cut Educator, Aveda Institute & Academy Vancouver


Tracy began her career with Aveda in 2005. Since then she has been an integral part of the Vancouver Academy Education team. Tracy has had the opportunity to work closely with Creative Directors, and Aveda Guest artists for various shows; with the most recent being Plugged In Vancouver 2009. Education with a creative approach continues to be the foundation for Tracy’s passion.
